In 2022, I decided to focus on building a personal brand and see how it could benefit my business.
Although I had heard about the concept before, I wasn’t quite sure what it entailed or how to go about it. But as I began to research and explore the different aspects of personal branding, I realized that it was something that could greatly benefit me and my career.
But what is personal branding exactly?
Personal branding is the process of creating and promoting a specific image or identity for oneself in the professional world. It’s about positioning yourself as an expert in your field and establishing a unique and distinct reputation that sets you apart from others.
Today, personal branding is more important than ever in the labor market as it helps individuals stand out and showcase their skills and expertise. In this post, we will ride through my personal branding journey. Buckle up and let’s dive in!
My Journey With Personal Branding In 2022
In my journey with personal branding in 2022, I took creating content on Twitter and Instagram more seriously. I realized that these platforms were great for showcasing my skills and expertise and connecting with others in my industry.
In addition to this, I reduced my presence on LinkedIn, as I found that the platform can sometimes be cluttered with noise and it was difficult to stand out. I only used it to close deals when necessary.
Towards the end of the year, I decided to take my personal branding efforts to the next level by starting a newsletter for creative entrepreneurs called Creative Biz Pulse. I also launched a podcast where I interviewed successful creative professionals about their careers and the lessons they've learned along the way.
Both the newsletter and the podcast have been well-received and have helped me further establish myself as a thought leader in the creative industry. I plan on continuing to grow and develop these projects in 2023 and am excited to see how they will help me achieve my professional goals.
